On my wounds only dressings
I can speak only blessings
Hold the line
Salvation hangs in the balance
Stand your ground
The pen and the pad protect your stance
They are many
They have power and want you to curse
Your brother your father
After all they’re only words
Stand your ground
Salvation hangs in the balance
Hold the line
The pen and the pad protect you stance
Hold your ground
Your war is now my fist
On my wounds only dressings
I can speak only blessings
Speak the truth
Make the arrow and it flies away
Shake that hand
I’ve made my choice you make yours
Look upon my foe
Curse them or be cursed
You're no better than my donkey
I’m not sure which is worse
Speak the truth
Make the arrow and it flies away
Shake that hand
I’ve made my choice you make yours
Your war is now my fist
Your war is now my fist

This is a remaster and reissue of the first album by horror metal band Dark Night. This music has the sound and style of classic albums such as Don't Break the Oath and The Fatal Portrait. Those who are familiar with classic Mercyful Fate and King Diamond will know what I'm talking about. Creeptastic vocals and classic metal vibes are in abundance here. Keep in mind that Dark Night is a Christian band. Lyrically speaking, the band takes classic tropes from horror literature and films, as well as lyrical tropes often found in secular metal, and turns them on their heads to show good in triumph over evil. It's really quite brilliant. Really great stuff! Thanks to VOGr for finally making this officially available to those of us residing outside of the band's native country. Matthew Smith
The great NYC black metal group Dawnbreaker returns with another harrowing LP, where brutal riffs are trailed by eerie synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 23, 2022
