Keep building your idols
And I’ll burn 'em all down
I live my life for Christ now
I want my life
I must lose it
On holy ground
I must choose it
Bury me so I can find it
Burn in me so I can see
Burn in me have not I
I have seen the oppression of my people
And I have heard their cry
They will be delivered
And shall not die
I live my life for Christ now
Stretch out your hand
Toward heaven it will be felt
Darkness is thick
Blood runs thicker
Harden your heart
You will break it
Shatter your self
Can you take it?
Can you take my life from me?
No
You can’t take it
Bury me so I can find it
Burn in me so I can see
Burn in me have not I
Bury me
Rest in peace

This is a remaster and reissue of the first album by horror metal band Dark Night. This music has the sound and style of classic albums such as Don't Break the Oath and The Fatal Portrait. Those who are familiar with classic Mercyful Fate and King Diamond will know what I'm talking about. Creeptastic vocals and classic metal vibes are in abundance here. Keep in mind that Dark Night is a Christian band. Lyrically speaking, the band takes classic tropes from horror literature and films, as well as lyrical tropes often found in secular metal, and turns them on their heads to show good in triumph over evil. It's really quite brilliant. Really great stuff! Thanks to VOGr for finally making this officially available to those of us residing outside of the band's native country. Matthew Smith
The great NYC black metal group Dawnbreaker returns with another harrowing LP, where brutal riffs are trailed by eerie synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 23, 2022
