Am I willing
To put on a crown of thorns
To die for you
To proclaim your name
At the top of my lungs
To take the beatings when
I tell them I love you
To have possessions ripped
From my hands because
Demons hate light
To give up guilty lusty
Pleasures for a season
To spew ash from my mouth
You bled for me
I spit at you
You are the Holy God
I am a wicked vessel
Jesus you love me
I don’t know why
But it makes me love you
I love you
I will never be alone
Am I willing to love you
Above all others
I love you
With everything I am
I tell you
I will never be alone

This is a remaster and reissue of the first album by horror metal band Dark Night. This music has the sound and style of classic albums such as Don't Break the Oath and The Fatal Portrait. Those who are familiar with classic Mercyful Fate and King Diamond will know what I'm talking about. Creeptastic vocals and classic metal vibes are in abundance here. Keep in mind that Dark Night is a Christian band. Lyrically speaking, the band takes classic tropes from horror literature and films, as well as lyrical tropes often found in secular metal, and turns them on their heads to show good in triumph over evil. It's really quite brilliant. Really great stuff! Thanks to VOGr for finally making this officially available to those of us residing outside of the band's native country. Matthew Smith
The great NYC black metal group Dawnbreaker returns with another harrowing LP, where brutal riffs are trailed by eerie synths. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 23, 2022
